Terms of Service
Effective April 27, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a contract between you and Resume SpeedRun (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to online services) and legally able to enter into a contract. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.
3. Your content and license to us
You keep ownership of everything you submit to the service — your resume, the job descriptions you paste, the cover letters we generate from your inputs. We do not claim copyright over your work.
To run the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, copy, transmit, process with our AI provider, and display your content solely as needed to deliver the tailoring features you’re using. This license ends when you delete the relevant content (or your account), except for backup copies that get rotated out under normal log-retention timelines.
You warrant that you have the rights necessary to submit each piece of content. In particular, you confirm that the resume you upload describes you (or someone you have permission to represent), and that the job descriptions you paste are not protected in a way that prevents this kind of use.
4. AI output and accuracy
The service uses generative AI. We design it specifically to avoid fabricating skills or experience that aren’t in your resume — see our Trust page for the full commitment — but no AI is perfect. You are responsible for reviewing every tailored resume and cover letter before sending it to an employer.
We make no promise that you will get a job, an interview, or any specific outcome from using the service.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit content you do not have the rights to use.
- Use the service to create resumes that misrepresent the experience or credentials of the person they describe.
- Attempt to extract our prompts, model weights, or source code, or to reverse-engineer the service.
- Run automated scraping, brute-forcing, or load-testing against the service without our written permission.
- Try to bypass the free-tailor quota by creating multiple accounts, manipulating client-side state, or any similar workaround.
- Use the service to generate content that is defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, illegal, or that infringes third-party rights.
- Resell access to the service, white-label it, or expose it as an API to anyone else.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity. We may also disable specific features (including AI features) for any account that we reasonably believe is being abused.
6. Paid plans
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page; your access continues through the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for, and you are not charged again. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
7. Intellectual property
The Resume SpeedRun name, logo, designs, code, and prompts are owned by Resume SpeedRun and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer any of those rights to you. You may not use our marks, copy our prompts, or use the visual design of our interface in your own product.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if we’re required to by law, or if continuing to provide the service to you would expose us or other users to risk. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (license grants for content already processed, IP, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) survive.
9. Disclaimer
Plain English: we run a small service and we can’t promise it will always work perfectly.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, neither Resume SpeedRun nor any of its officers, employees, or contractors will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, opportunities, data, or goodwill — arising out of your use of the service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the service is capped at the greater of (a) the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (US$100).
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from any third-party claim arising out of (i) content you submit to the service or (ii) your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can’t be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email to signed-in users at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
